Today is December 1st and it’s the first day of BlOGMAS! This is the first year i’ll be doing BLOGMAS, which will be 12 holiday inspired posts.
Winter has finally approached us and the shades of our wardrobe are getting darker, and so are our nail polishes.
For todays post, I’m going to show you guys 6 nail colors that are perfect for the holiday season as well as nail sets that are perfect for gift giving.
During the holidays red is a staple. It wouldn’t be Christmas without some red nails to match your Christmas spirit. For red shades, I chose two of my favorites to share with you guys.
The first red I chose is from Essie. The shade is called ironically, “Really Red” This color is a perfect true, bright red, and would look great on all skin tones.
If your not a bright red kind of person, then I have another shade for you. Believe it or not, there is a red shade out there for everyone! You just have to find the undertone you like best. “Very Cranberry” by Essie is another gorgeous shade of red with darker undertones. It’s not maroon, and it’s not a wine shade, it’s just very cranberry like! Hence the name.
Moving on to deeper shades, I chose two of my favorites from OPI. My go to shade from OPI is “In the cable car-pool lane”. I have no idea why this color is called that, but I’m sure it has a great significance somehow. This shade is a true rich burgundy.
Next shade is a very popular shade that most of you may know, and that’s OPI’s “Lincoln Park After Dark” This is a super dark Plum shade that looks almost black when you apply a few coats.
Two other shades I love, that I think would be perfect for this holiday season are more on the neutral side, because not everyone likes dark nails.
So the next shade I have for you guys is another neutral favorite, and that is OPI’s “Bubble Bath”. This is a very neutral pink that just enhances your own nail color. I use this one ALOT.
If you want something a bit more pigmented but with the same light neutralness, I’d try OPI’s “Sweet Heart”
Another neutral shade I like, is OPI’s “Berlin there, done that”. It is a unique
grey, mauve shade that I think is dark enough for the holidays but is still on the neutral side.
Those are my 6 favorite holiday nail colors, and because it’s the holidays, don’t forget to add some sparkle with Essie’s “Beyond Cozy” gold glitter.
